Job Requirements

  • Ability to work evenings, holidays and a weekend rotation
  • Associates degree in Hotel, Restaurant, Institutional Management or a closely related field
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible executive chef experience
  • Ability and willingness to relate effectively to an educated and engaged resident community with warmth, compassion, sensitivity, and enthusiasm
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing top-tier customer service
  • Strong operational management skills combined with a commitment to mentorship and training staff with varying levels of experience
  • Attention to detail, hospitality, customer service, and cleanliness
  • Congenial communication style
  • Commitment to safety and participation in safety committee meetings
  • Maintain a strong, supportive, and friendly corporate culture while holding employees accountable
  • Strong working knowledge of a POS system

Job Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Hotel, Restaurant, Institutional Management or a closely related field
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible executive chef experience
  • Long-term care or healthcare experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing top-tier customer service
  • Strong operational management skills combined with a commitment to mentorship and training staff
  • Laser-focused orientation to results with a keen understanding of hospitality, customer service, and cleanliness
  • Congenial communication style with the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • Commitment to safety and participation in safety committee meetings
  • Strong working knowledge of a POS system

Job Duties

  • Embody and articulate the vision and mission of the organization inside and outside of the community
  • Exercise the leadership and management skills necessary to ensure that Dunwoody Village's dining service program provides exceptional services and excellent food quality
  • Lead the cooks, servers, and utility staff in a manner that consistently promotes decision-making collaboration and is based upon trust, openness, honesty, integrity, empowerment, and shared accountability for success
  • Cultivate and maintain constructive communication with residents, residents' family members, and employees
  • Develop and implement innovative menus that address the diverse and ever-changing dining needs and requests of our residents
  • Provide leadership and direction in the maintenance and enhancement of a workplace culture that attracts, supports, empowers, and retains dining service employees
