Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of experience in event management or related professional area
  • Or 2-year degree in hospitality, business administration or related field
  • At least 1 year experience in event management
  • Ability to stand for long periods and move around the facility
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capability to work flexibly including necessary travel
  • Proficiency in using event management software and tools
  • Ability to handle guest complaints effectively
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to conduct meetings and coordinate teams
  • Physical ability to work in an office and event site environments

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years experience in event management or related field
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with at least 1 year experience in event management
  • Experience with managing events of average complexity
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate event teams
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry standards
  • Ability to forecast revenue and handle billing accurately
  • Skills in problem-solving and operational management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with sales and marketing teams

Job Duties

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales and property departments
  • Ensure seamless event progression by collaborating with teams and following procedures
  • Greet customers during event phases and coordinate hand-offs to event operations
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups
  • Identify and solve operational challenges with staff and customers
  • Act as liaison between field salesperson and customer throughout the event process
  • Conduct formal pre- and post-event meetings to review group needs and feedback
  • Assist in sales process and revenue forecasting for customer groups
  • Up-sell products and services during the event process
  • Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
  • Observe employee service behaviors and provide feedback
  • Participate in developing corrective action plans
  • Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints
  • Lead coordination and communication of event details
  • Follow up with customers post-event
  • Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews
  • Solicit feedback to improve event planning experience
  • Stay available to solve problems or suggest alternatives
