Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous convention/event and catering sales experience preferred
  • Creativity and knowledge of food and beverage/event coordination desirable
  • Valid driver's license for the applicable state
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with professional sales techniques such as opening, probing, supporting, and closing preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills

Job Duties

  • Meet or exceed assigned meeting planner satisfaction scores, revenue goals, and food and beverage targets
  • Proactively conduct solicitation calls, sales tours, and client entertainment tailored to the specific needs of the assigned property
  • Monitor and assess trends within the market segment
  • Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly, courteous, attentive, and service-oriented manner
  • Adhere to Avion Hospitality's regulations, company standards, catering and meeting standards, and catering sales metrics
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the hotel's operations and policies, as well as those of relevant departments
  • Deliver banquet event orders in a timely manner (within 10 days), ensuring accuracy
  • Communicate any changes promptly to impacted departments and operations leaders
  • Maintain strong visibility in the local community and industry organizations, as applicable
  • Assist in implementing and/or participating in special promotions related to direct sales segments, such as sales blitzes, as needed
  • Attend and participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, as well as other functions required by management
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Director of Sales/Events
