Job Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of professional event planning experience
  • ability to interpret and apply complex policies, procedures, and practices
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • experience supervising student employees is preferred
  • ability to work primarily on-site at the Memorial Union
  • availability to work occasional nights or weekends to support events

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of professional event planning experience
  • experience with event management software
  • experience working directly with customers to plan events
  • experience with hybrid or virtual meeting planning

Job Duties

  • Monitor and process event related transactions and event data and records
  • communicate with customers to determine event details and requirements, evaluate requests, recommend service plans and pricing, and provide status updates
  • greet customers and guests, assist with registration, answer questions, and refer complex issues to appropriate entities
  • schedule logistics and secure resources for all aspects of events including space, vendors, and staff
  • coordinate details and resolve operational issues
  • assist with planning and the creation of promotional materials and resources for events
