Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • must be at least 21 years of age
  • one year of transportation experience, preferably in residential care
  • bilingual (English and Spanish based on service area and population)
  • valid Texas driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
  • ability to meet agency insurance provider guidelines as an insured and approved driver and maintain a good driving record
  • must be able to work evenings and weekends
  • ability to board and un-board infants, toddlers, and adolescents and physically secure safely in the company vehicle with car seats as needed
  • clear verbal communication skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • ability to use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in difficult and stressful situations
  • proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • must be at least 21 years of age

  • preferred two years experience transporting children
  • preferred experience traveling via airlines and familiarity navigating airports

Job Duties

  • Safely transport unaccompanied children to and from scheduled activities and appointments using safety protocols such as DOT safety measures
  • use safety protocol to enter and exit unaccompanied children from the vehicle
  • assist with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed
  • conduct pre-and-post trip operational and safety inspection of vehicle and immediately notify management if vehicle does not meet operational or safety standards
  • clean and maintain cleanliness of vehicle before and after each transportation
  • record mileage for all travel and ensure all vehicle and mileage logs are accurately maintained as well as the confidentiality of unaccompanied children according to HIPAA
  • inform senior transporter of any daily, weekly, and monthly changes to the transportation schedule to meet unaccompanied children’s transportation needs
  • report all incidents and accidents to senior transporter in a timely manner according to agency policies and licensing standards
  • keep senior transporter informed of any changes in travel or transportation plans
  • assist with the evacuation of unaccompanied children during an emergency, inclement weather conditions, natural disaster, or any other unforeseen occurrences
  • escort unaccompanied children during scheduled flights, ensure safety, and verify proper identification before unaccompanied child is released to verified sponsor
  • complete and submit all receipts and release forms after each scheduled flight
  • exhibit professional behavior and a positive attitude with internal and external clients that reflects positively on the agency and is consistent with agency policies and practices
