Job Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to a maximum 5 ft
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs at waist height a reasonable distance
- Ability to push or pull up to 50 lbs with assistance or devices
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, reach above shoulders and crawl
- Ability to shovel and spread salt or sand on snow as required
- Ability to walk or stand for the majority of the shift
- Ability to wear protective clothing for exposure to chemicals, infectious waste, and temperature changes
- Ability to safely operate power cleaning equipment and ladders up to 20 feet
- No licensure, registration, or certification required

Job Duties
- Clean furniture and carpets in rooms, hallways, stairs, and offices using power equipment
- Clean and maintain floor surfaces with dry and wet mops
- Refinish floors including machine scrubbing, stripping, and applying floor finish
- Operate mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment
- Notify appropriate persons of safety hazards and equipment needing repair
- Clean equipment, carts, and service closets daily
- Assist in cleaning emergency spills
- Use chemicals and cleaning products safely according to Material Safety Data Sheets
- Set up rooms for meetings and deliver audio visual equipment
- Clean patient care areas, restrooms, conference rooms, lobbies, offices, elevators, and stairwells
- Perform terminal and project cleaning in surgical areas
- Clean environmental surfaces including ceilings, vents, walls, doors, furniture, beds, bathroom fixtures, and windows
- Dust and mop floors in various areas
- Gather and dispose of recyclables, trash, and medical waste following infection control guidelines
- Sort, stock, and deliver linens
- Prepare soiled linen for transportation
- Inventory and order cleaning and paper supplies
- Fill and clean supply dispensers
- Replace cubicle drapes and window coverings
- Clean and prepare dismissal and transfer units and certain patient care equipment
- Report mechanical failures or unsafe conditions to supervisors
