Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Meet McLane transfer and promotion policy eligibility
- Completion of CDL Class A training within six months
- Physical ability to perform job functions including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and stooping
- Ability to comprehend and communicate in English
- Ability to drive tractor-trailer safely
- Willingness to handle all types of products ordered by customers
- Successfully pass background check and drug screen as required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Meet eligibility requirements in the McLane transfer and promotion policy
- Complete training and obtain Class A CDL within six months
- Ability and willingness to select, load, unload, and deliver all products ordered by McLane customers
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop to perform essential job functions
- Ability to read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations for product quantities
- Effective communication with customers, management, and teammates
- Ability to safely drive tractor-trailer and use delivery equipment
- Proficient English reading, writing, and comprehension skills
Job Duties
- Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure
- Operate truck safely in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
- Inspect tractor-trailer equipment pre- and post-trip and submit DOT inspection reports
- Operate Driver Delivery Handheld device to document delivery receipts, product temperatures, and exceptions
- Ride and train with Driver Trainer to learn commercial driving skills and delivery protocols
- Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery details
- Assist driver in unloading trailer and delivering product into customer premises
