Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Eligibility under McLane Transfer and Promotion Policy
  • Complete training and obtain Class A CDL within 6 months
  • Physically able to perform essential job functions including standing, walking, climbing, and bending
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level necessary for the job
  • Willing and able to handle selection, loading, unloading, and delivery of products
  • Ability to use tractor-trailers and related equipment safely

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Meet eligibility requirements in the McLane Transfer and Promotion Policy
  • Complete training and receive Class A CDL in 6 months or less
  • Ability and willingness to select, load, unload, and/or deliver all products ordered by customers
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop to accomplish essential job functions
  • Ability to read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to communicate with customers, management, and teammates
  • Ability to safely drive a tractor-trailer and use associated equipment
  • Proficient in English to understand work instructions, safety protocols, and communication requirements

Job Duties

  • Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure
  • Operate truck safely in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
  • Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report
  • Operate Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH), document delivery receipts, product temperatures, and exceptions
  • Ride and train with Driver Trainer gaining knowledge of commercial driving regulations and driving skills
  • Maintain driver log (Manual or PeopleNet) according to DOT regulations
  • Assist the Driver in unloading trailer and delivering product into customer premises
  • Perform other duties as assigned
