Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or maintain a valid DOT health card
- Ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to move freight of varying weight throughout shifts
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL-A)
- Minimum one year of tractor trailer commercial driving experience
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for the past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass a road test
- Attain or have a valid current DOT health card or able to secure a new one
- Ability to hand-lift and operate equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to move freight weighing between 10 and 90 pounds
- Experience with onboard computer and electronic log systems (e.g., PeopleNet) is preferred
- Experience operating handheld point of delivery scanning systems (e.g., POD) is preferred
- Customer service experience is a plus
Job Duties
- Drive tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes including local, OTR, shuttle, and overnight routes
- Perform all pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections on tractor, truck, and trailer to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers
- Verify freight by performing count checks and inspecting trailer for properly loaded and secured products
- Handle delivery paperwork accurately and legibly, complete records of hours of service and maintain logs in compliance with federal and state requirements
- Load and unload products using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates, ensure safe and efficient transport of goods to designated customer storage areas
- Collect payments when required, secure trailer doors, unload damaged goods and customer returns, perform general housekeeping duties at loading dock and trailer areas
