Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Acceptable motor vehicle record as defined by the motor vehicle record chart
- Ability to operate specially equipped vehicles with wheelchair lifts
- Proficiency with basic computer and mobile device usage
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to emergencies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or post-high school diploma or highest degree earned
- One year of experience with a frail or elderly population preferred
- Proficiency in basic computer operations including email and common software programs
- Advanced skills with mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets
- Ability to navigate scheduling and communication platforms
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean motor vehicle record as defined by the acceptable motor vehicle record chart
Job Duties
- Operate specially equipped vehicles to transport physically limited passengers safely and on schedule
- Assist participants with loading, unloading, and operating wheelchair lifts
- Secure wheelchairs and mobility devices using appropriate tie-downs
- Ensure passengers board and disembark safely
- Respond quickly to medical or safety emergencies following established protocols
- Maintain and adjust schedules to accommodate unanticipated changes
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to communicate participant condition and safety concerns
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Perform other duties as assigned
