Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record as defined by the motor vehicle record chart
  • Ability to operate specially equipped vehicles with wheelchair lifts
  • Proficiency with basic computer and mobile device usage
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent or post-high school diploma or highest degree earned
  • One year of experience with a frail or elderly population preferred
  • Proficiency in basic computer operations including email and common software programs
  • Advanced skills with mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets
  • Ability to navigate scheduling and communication platforms
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean motor vehicle record as defined by the acceptable motor vehicle record chart

Job Duties

  • Operate specially equipped vehicles to transport physically limited passengers safely and on schedule
  • Assist participants with loading, unloading, and operating wheelchair lifts
  • Secure wheelchairs and mobility devices using appropriate tie-downs
  • Ensure passengers board and disembark safely
  • Respond quickly to medical or safety emergencies following established protocols
  • Maintain and adjust schedules to accommodate unanticipated changes
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to communicate participant condition and safety concerns
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness
  • Perform other duties as assigned
