Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- possession of a current Class A CDL with all endorsements including hazardous materials
- valid Medical Examiner’s Card or Certificate
- ability to obtain TWIC card and forklift certification
- capable of working flexible and extended hours
- able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- maintain a clean driving record compliant with company standards
- ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment with constant alertness
- strong communication skills
- ability to work under pressure
- willingness to perform physical duties including climbing and operating equipment
- able to follow detailed instructions
- must pass employment drug test, background investigation, and FMCSA Clearing House check
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Class A CDL with all endorsements required
- ability to read, interpret, and write shipping and safety documents
- effective communication skills with customers and team members
- basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- mechanical inclination
- ability to prioritize and problem-solve in safety-sensitive situations
- good interpersonal and organizational skills
- able to work under pressure
- ability to maintain accurate records and reports
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- current Class A Alaska Commercial Driver’s License with hazardous materials endorsement
- acceptable driving record as per company standards
- current Medical Examiner’s Card or Certificate
- ability to obtain TWIC card and forklift certifications
Job Duties
- Transport and deliver freight to and from customer facilities
- inspect truck and trailer for defects and complete daily vehicle inspection forms
- check shipping papers for proper descriptions including hazardous materials, weight, packaging, and labeling
- collect payment for goods delivered and delivery charges as necessary
- maneuver vehicle safely in heavy traffic, inclement weather, and difficult loading/unloading conditions
- maintain communication with Dispatcher via telephone or radio
- operate forklifts to move freight between equipment, warehouse, and yard locations
- load and unload trucks/trailers securing shipments using appropriate methods
- assist in maintenance and housekeeping duties at service center
- report safety hazards, incidents, and accidents involving cargo or personnel
- maintain records complying with state, federal, and corporate regulations
- work flexible hours as required
