Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Class A CDL with endorsements
- mechanical aptitude
- ability to follow safety protocols
- good communication skills
- ability to operate forklifts
- physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- willingness to work flexible hours
- clean driving record
- current Medical Examiner’s Certificate
- pass employment drug test
- pass background investigation
- pass FMCSA Clearing House check
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Class A CDL with all endorsements required
- mechanical inclination and ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily
- ability to read, interpret, and write relevant documents
- effective verbal communication skills
- ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- ability to understand and follow detailed instructions
- effective problem-solving and prioritization skills
- detail oriented with good interpersonal and organizational skills
- flexible to work extended hours and under pressure
- ability to maintain accurate records
- capable of working independently and in a team
- current Class A Alaska Commercial Driver’s License with hazardous materials endorsement
- acceptable driving record per company standards
- current Medical Examiner’s Card or Certificate
- ability to obtain TWIC card
- ability to obtain forklift certifications
Job Duties
- Transport freight to and from customer facilities
- inspect truck and trailer for defects and complete daily vehicle inspection forms
- check shipping papers for proper commodity descriptions including hazardous materials
- collect payment for goods delivered and delivery charges
- maneuver vehicle safely in heavy traffic, weather, and difficult loading/unloading areas
- maintain telephone or radio contact with dispatcher
- operate forklifts to move freight between equipment, warehouse, and yard locations
- load and unload truck/trailer and secure shipments
- assist in maintenance of company properties including housekeeping duties
- report safety hazards, incidents, and accidents
- maintain records for compliance with regulations
- work flexible hours as needed
