Job Requirements

  • Maintains a current applicable driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • CPR certification
  • annual driver education
  • able to operate chair lift and secure wheelchairs and scooters
  • at least 21 years old
  • ability to work semi-independently
  • follow all community policies and procedures
  • able to make responsible decisions in a resident’s best interest
  • complete and pass pre-employment drug test
  • compliant with Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination mandates as applicable
  • able to complete required training
  • maintains confidentiality of resident information
  • able to respond promptly to requests and concerns
  • able to report vehicle accidents and incidents immediately

Job Qualifications

  • Maintains a current applicable driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • CPR certification and annual driver education
  • knowledge of safety precautions and ability to comply with safety procedures
  • ability to operate chair lifts and secure wheelchairs and scooters
  • minimum age of 21 years
  • strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • competent organizational and time management skills
  • ability to work semi-independently and follow community procedures
  • capable of making responsible decisions in residents’ best interest

Job Duties

  • Provide transportation services for residents
  • assist residents with special needs during transportation
  • maintain focus on driving and direct tasks to on-board support staff
  • comply with safety, loss prevention, and infection control procedures
  • coordinate activities of team members assisting in driver or resident care roles
  • maintain community vehicles including cleanliness and safety equipment
  • perform routine vehicle maintenance and document inspections
  • report any changes in resident condition to coordinators
  • practice safety procedures and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • respond to resident, family, and team member requests and concerns
  • maintain confidentiality of resident information
  • participate in team engagement and training sessions
  • assist in activities when no outings are scheduled
  • adhere to regulations and policies pertaining to driving
  • report all vehicle accidents and safety issues immediately
  • train team members on driving and safety procedures
  • review daily and maintenance logs for resident and vehicle information
  • contribute to team goals and demonstrate teamwork and commitment to service
