Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- Ability to comply with DOT regulations
- Prior experience driving commercial vehicles
- Experience with respiratory or breathing air equipment maintenance preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and manual labor
- Strong organizational skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
Job Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- Experience operating commercial trucks and trailers
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Experience in performing vehicle inspections and basic maintenance
- Ability to operate and maintain breathing air equipment such as SCBA
- Strong attention to detail for equipment inspection and repair
- Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and documentation
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to handle loading, unloading, and emergency roadside repairs
Job Duties
- Refers to the safety and operations checklists of steps to be followed for each trailer type to be pulled and follows checklist after each haul
- Completes DOT and company-required documentation
- Provides timely delivery and pick-up to and from designated customer locations
- When picking up equipment, inspects for damage and/or excessive wear and notes accordingly
- Complies with current DOT regulations
- Completes all documentation associated with delivery and pickup in a timely and accurate manner and obtains signature from customer so that proper invoicing and documentation can be provided to customer
- Performs basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer
- Performs regular inspections, not less than weekly of all assigned trucks and trailers to ensure that all required safety and preventative maintenance measures have been executed and documented
- Assists others in facility including stocking shelves with clean, tested and ready to use equipment and pulling, staging and loading customer orders onto trucks for delivery
- Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition
- Assists others as needed
- May need to perform emergency roadside repairs
- Performs receipt, inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembling, and testing of various SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) and other respiratory equipment and breathing air equipment in accordance with approved testing and service procedures
- Performs routine inspection and maintenance of breathing air regulators and reducers and high- and low-pressure breathing air manifolds
- Conducts detailed visual inspections and system functional tests of various systems and equipment to report any deficiencies and corrective action recommendations to customer
- Assesses the repair needed and quotes the customer price and delivery for repair or replacement
- Completes all documentation and data entry associated with inspection and repair in a timely and accurate manner and obtains signature from customer so that proper invoicing and documentation can be provided to customer as required
- This includes all inspection and repair documents, job cost billable expenses and time sheets
