Job Requirements

Be punctual to begin work
Wear proper uniform including black slacks, Black Bear Diner tee-shirt, hat, and black slip-proof shoes
Maintain a neat and clean appearance with trimmed facial hair and nails
No excessive jewelry
Responsible for sanitation and cleanliness of kitchenware and kitchen areas
Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods up to four hours without a break
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to multitask including use of radio headset
Willingness to work overtime
Complete tasks assigned by management
Take breaks on time and punch in and out appropriately

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is an asset
Ability to follow sanitation and safety protocols
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting heavy items and prolonged standing
Basic knowledge of dishwashing machinery and cleaning chemicals
Reliability and punctuality
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Willingness to work flexible hours including overtime

Job Duties

Maintain cleanliness of all china, glass, silverware, pots and pans
Ensure sanitation of dishes, glassware and silverware
Clean and maintain dishwashing machine
Manage dish machine chemicals and sanitation fluids
Organize and maintain the dish room
Restock kitchen line with plates, soup bowls, soup cups, salad plates, monkey dishes
Restock food servers area with glassware, silverware, empty buss tubs
Clean kitchen floors, freezer, and refrigerators
Clean cooking and baking equipment including oven and alto sham
Maintain cleanliness of back areas, dumpster, card box container and trash container
Clean guest restrooms and parking lot
Report chemical shortages for inventory management
Report and replace broken dishes
Take out garbage and cardboard containers on scheduled dates
Follow prescribed uniform and appearance guidelines
Work overtime if needed
Complete other assigned tasks as designated by management
Punctuality and time management with breaks
Use radio headset communication
