Job Requirements
- Possess or obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license
- maintain insurable status for automobile and liability coverage
- high school diploma
- ability to lift and move containers exceeding 100 pounds regularly
- capability to operate delivery vehicle and related equipment safely
- ability to work in various weather conditions
- maintain punctual attendance
- follow district health, safety, and sanitation protocols
- capable of reading and interpreting oral and written instructions
- ability to occasionally supervise and train others
- strong customer service skills
- willingness to comply with drug-free workplace requirements
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- basic ability to use grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- ability to perform arithmetic using fractions, decimals, and commercial methods
- knowledge of methods for receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment
- ability to operate trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and power sweeping machines
- knowledge of delivery and pick-up routes
- understanding of safety regulations protecting truck, food, and transport equipment
- ability to read, understand, and execute oral and written instructions
- legible printing and writing
- ability to supervise student workers and train staff occasionally
- strong commitment to task completion
- accurate recording and conveyance of information, materials, and money
- adherence to drug-free workplace policies
- ability to attend scheduled team meetings
Job Duties
- Loads supplies on transport carts as necessary
- delivers food, equipment, mail, and supplies to district centers and schools
- loads specially designed food containers into trucks
- adheres to delivery schedules to ensure timely food service
- picks up, sorts, and delivers incoming and outgoing mail
- transports large amounts of money to banks daily
- maintains positive and professional relations representing the school district
- assures consistent and timely delivery of mail and supplies
- assists distribution manager with receiving, storing, and distributing products
- unloads vehicles manually or with equipment such as pallet jack or forklift
- assists in cleaning the distribution center
- organizes U.S. mail and other deliveries to maximize savings and service
- transports commodities between schools and central kitchen, maintaining inventories
- ensures cleanliness and return of food transport containers
- maintains and cares for transport trucks
- reports truck maintenance needs
- installs and removes tire chains as needed
- follows health, safety, and sanitation rules
- maintains and cares for transport carts
- fulfills additional related duties and performance standards as assigned
