Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or some college
  • Minimum 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Five years or more experience as Director of Food and Beverage preferably in a 5-star hotel
  • Food handling certificate can be obtained during employment
  • Knowledge of various drink recipes and beverage service standards
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English
  • Ability to provide legible communication
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or some college education
  • At least 5 years experience as Director of Food and Beverage preferably in a 5-star hotel
  • Food handling certification or willingness to obtain during employment
  • Strong knowledge of various drink recipes and beverage service standards
  • Excellent communication skills in English for effective interaction with employees, management, co-workers, and guests
  • Ability to provide clear and legible communication
  • Competency in performing basic mathematical calculations

Job Duties

  • Manage all aspects of food and beverage operations in accordance with hotel standards
  • Direct, implement and maintain service and management philosophy for food and beverage staff
  • Provide support, training, and direction to ensure continuous success of team members
  • Collaborate daily with Director of Banquets, Outlet Managers, and Executive Chef to review business performance
  • Oversee setup and cleanliness of workstations and ensure timely requisition of supplies and materials
  • Review daily event lists, catering contracts and familiarize with guests’ names and room locations
  • Accommodate customer requests promptly and follow up to ensure completion
  • Train and certify employees according to company standards
  • Monitor cleanliness and enforce loss prevention programs
  • Conduct scheduled inventories and prepare weekly forecasts of revenues, covers, and labor costs
  • Assist with departmental meetings and attend menu and wine tastings
  • Plan special events and bar promotions, including developing new drink recipes
  • Update POS menu changes and document maintenance requests
  • Coach, counsel employees and document all incidents
  • Participate in emergency procedures and ensure adherence to hotel policies and procedures
