Job Requirements

  • minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum two years experience supervising kitchen and dining operations
  • current servsafe certification
  • ability to recruit hire train and manage staff
  • ability to cook and produce food at required volume three to four days per week
  • proficient in computer applications
  • willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • ability to pass background check drug screening and physical examination
  • compliance with covid-19 and influenza vaccination mandates if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • minimum two years experience supervising kitchen food service and dining room operations in full-service restaurant
  • ability to recruit coach and manage kitchen dining room staff
  • minimum two years volume cooking experience
  • current servsafe certification
  • ability to use production sheets standardized recipes temperature logs and sanitation forms
  • basic knowledge of nutrition and modified diets
  • proven ability to manage food and labor budgets
  • proficient in basic computer skills
  • ability to work weekends evenings and flexible hours

Job Duties

  • deliver consistent high-quality food and hospitality service by following recipes menus and programs
  • post and display weekly and daily menus
  • complete and utilize production sheets to control food quality and portions
  • ensure adherence to modified diets correct portioning and proper serving methods
  • prepare and serve meals on time at correct temperatures
  • train on and participate in front-of-the-house operations
  • ensure all food in Bistro and common areas is fresh covered labeled and dated
  • support special events with emphasis on marketing
  • serve meal in Reminiscence and meet with coordinator daily
  • partner with wellness team and dietitian to understand resident nutritional needs
  • participate in monthly resident council and food committee meetings
  • visit with residents during meal periods for feedback
  • coordinate staffing in dining room
  • adhere to product order guides and vendor programs
  • ensure compliance with HACCP and health regulations
  • maintain inventory of food and supplies
  • promote risk management programs
  • ensure enforcement of safety procedures like PPE and SDS
  • comply with health department regulations
  • practice safe food handling
  • maintain clean organized kitchen
  • maintain accurate food production and sanitation records
  • partner with maintenance for equipment repairs
  • manage department budget including food and labor
  • keep financial tools updated
  • review financial statements and implement action plans
  • process monthly expenses and budget data
  • coordinate team for staff economies and cross training
  • conduct regular inventories per guidelines
  • provide management including recruiting hiring training and coaching
  • lead meetings and trainings
  • ensure regulatory compliance
  • complete staffing and scheduling
  • review timekeeping and payroll
  • conduct performance appraisals
  • hold team accountable with documentation
  • attend required meetings
  • maintain professional development
  • comply with required training
  • perform other duties as assigned
