Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years’ experience supervising kitchen and food service operations
  • Current ServSafe certification
  • Ability to cook three to four days per week at required volume
  • Ability to recruit, coach, and manage staff
  • Knowledge of nutrition and modified diets
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Commitment to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • Successful completion of drug test, Tuberculosis test, physical evaluation, and background check
  • Compliance with vaccination requirements where applicable

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum two years’ experience supervising kitchen, food service, and dining operations in a full-service restaurant
  • Ability to recruit, coach, and manage kitchen/dining staff performance
  • Minimum two years’ volume cooking experience
  • Current ServSafe certification
  • Ability to use production sheets, standardized recipes, temperature logs, and sanitation forms
  • Basic knowledge of nutrition and modified diets
  • Proven ability to manage food and labor budgets
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and able to learn new applications
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Deliver high-quality food and hospitality service by following menus and culinary programs
  • Post and display weekly and daily menus according to standards
  • Use production sheets to control food quality and portions
  • Adhere to modified diets and proper serving methods
  • Prepare and serve meals on time and at correct temperatures
  • Train and participate in front-of-the-house operations
  • Maintain fresh, covered, labeled, and dated food in common areas
  • Support marketing and special events
  • Serve meals in Reminiscence area and coordinate with Reminiscence Coordinator
  • Partner with Wellness team and dietitian for resident nutritional needs
  • Attend Resident Council and food committee meetings
  • Engage with residents during meals for feedback
  • Coordinate dining room staffing with Residential Care Coordinator
  • Manage product ordering according to guides and vendor programs
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP and local health regulations
  • Maintain adequate inventory including emergency supplies
  • Promote occupational health and safety compliance
  • Enforce safety procedures including PPE and lockdown protocols
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness
  • Maintain accurate records for food production and sanitation
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Coordinator for equipment upkeep
  • Manage department budget including food, labor, and expenses
  • Review financial statements and implement corrective actions
  • Submit monthly expenses and budget data
  • Maximize staff economies and cross-training
  • Conduct regular inventories per accounting guidelines
  • Provide management of recruitment, hiring, training, and coaching
  • Lead team meetings and educational sessions
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and training
  • Schedule staffing per operational and budget needs
  • Monitor timekeeping and payroll accuracy
  • Conduct performance appraisals and accountability
  • Attend various leadership and quality improvement meetings
  • Stay current through professional development
  • Maintain compliance with all required training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
