Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to understand menus, special promotions, and communicate with guests
- Ability to repeatedly transport large serving trays weighing up to 40 pounds through crowded areas
- Availability for part-time work with rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
- Must reside within a commutable distance to NewYork-Presbyterian
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous food service or hospitality experience in a formal setting preferred
- Formal black and white room service or waiter experience preferred
- Ability to speak, read, and write English sufficiently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks
Job Duties
- Serve food and beverages graciously to patients, staff and visitors
- Assist guests in selecting meals compliant with dietary restrictions
- Articulate menu offerings and specials with appropriate descriptions
- Monitor cleanliness and presentation of equipment, flatware, plateware, and glassware before service
- Promote menu items effectively and take accurate orders
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service
- Transport large serving trays through crowded areas safely
