Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to understand menus, special promotions, and communicate with guests
  • Ability to repeatedly transport large serving trays weighing up to 40 pounds through crowded areas
  • Availability for part-time work with rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to NewYork-Presbyterian

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous food service or hospitality experience in a formal setting preferred
  • Formal black and white room service or waiter experience preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English sufficiently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks

Job Duties

  • Serve food and beverages graciously to patients, staff and visitors
  • Assist guests in selecting meals compliant with dietary restrictions
  • Articulate menu offerings and specials with appropriate descriptions
  • Monitor cleanliness and presentation of equipment, flatware, plateware, and glassware before service
  • Promote menu items effectively and take accurate orders
  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service
  • Transport large serving trays through crowded areas safely
