Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years experience in institutional food service
- Knowledge of food safety guidelines and sanitation standards
- Ability to lead and supervise dietary staff
- Good communication skills
- Physical ability to perform kitchen duties including lifting and standing for long periods
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Two or more years' experience in food service role in preparing food for institutions such as school, facility or cafeteria
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to supervise and train dietary staff
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to follow menu and special diet instructions
Job Duties
- Directs the day to day tasks of other dietary department staff
- Performs routine tasks related to clean up and sanitation of kitchen, dining or serving areas
- Guides or directs staff in food preparation and service
- Cleans kitchen areas including cooking areas, prep area, restrooms, serving counters, dish washing area, dry storage area, cooler and freezers per policy with appropriate chemicals and processes
- Assists cooking staff in meal preparations to include mixing, ingredient measuring, cutting, stirring
- Assists with unloading and stocking of storage areas and coolers/freezers during truck food deliveries
- Serves food to clients and staff at the serving counter
