Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in dietary environment
- ability to assist in food preparation and serving
- capability to clean and maintain kitchen and dining areas
- no criminal background
- able to provide employment and professional references
Job Qualifications
- prior experience in a dietary environment at a large establishment
- health care experience preferred
- previous knowledge and care of food service equipment preferred but not required
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred
Job Duties
- assist in the preparation of food in quantities according to the menu and recipe
- set up dining room as instructed
- prepare items such as salads and beverages
- take resident orders and serve meals to residents in a timely manner
- clean resident eating areas, work areas, equipment and utensils according to proper procedures
- collect and stack dirty dishes and return cart to kitchen
- wash cooking equipment, carts, pots, pans, dishes and utensils
- clean eating and prep surfaces
- sweep and mop floors
- remove garbage and store food in designated areas
- work cooperatively with residents, resident’s representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers
