Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience
  • ability to greet and interview patients professionally
  • proficiency in data entry and computer systems
  • dependable and punctual
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • familiarity with insurance processes and payment handling

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one or more years of related experience
  • proficiency in using computerized patient information systems
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to manage multiple telephone lines and schedule appointments efficiently
  • basic math skills for handling payments and balancing cash drawer
  • understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy
  • ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • experience with insurance authorization processes preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet, direct and interview patients
  • enter demographic data in the computerized patient information system
  • answer telephone calls and handle inquiries
  • schedule patient appointments
  • compile patient charts
  • serve as cashier, accept payments from patients, enter financial data into computer, issue receipts, balance cash drawer at end of day, set up payment contracts, work with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations, track payments and troubleshoot issues
  • complete additional HIPAA/privacy training upon hiring
  • complete infection control training
