Job Duties
- Greet, direct and interview patients
- Enter demographic data in the computerized patient information system
- Answer telephone calls and handle inquiries
- Schedule patient appointments
- Compile patient charts
- Serve as cashier
- accept payments from patients
- enter financial data into computer
- issue receipts
- balance cash drawer at end of day
- set up payment contracts
- work with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations
- track payments and troubleshoot issues
- Additional HIPAA / privacy training upon hiring
