Job Requirements

  • be at least 21 years old
  • possess a valid driver's license
  • have a driving record meeting company criteria for authorized drivers
  • pass Department of Transportation physical exam before employment and every two years thereafter
  • ability to drive vehicles over 10,000 pounds
  • demonstrate safety consciousness and attention to detail
  • work independently and maintain professionalism under stress
  • willingness to learn warehouse material-handling equipment and delivery systems

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • valid driver's license appropriate for vehicle weight
  • clean driving record per company policy
  • ability to pass Department of Transportation physical exam
  • knowledge of motor vehicle laws and Department of Transportation regulations
  • experience with warehouse safety and material handling
  • strong customer service and communication skills
  • ability to operate warehouse equipment and delivery computer systems
  • proficiency in English reading, writing, speaking, and understanding
  • basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Job Duties

  • operate trucks safely and in compliance with company rules and applicable laws
  • load trucks with merchandise and secure loads to prevent shifting or damage
  • review shipping documents to ensure order accuracy
  • unload merchandise and obtain signatures upon delivery
  • collect and secure payments for cash sale deliveries
  • resolve shipping discrepancies with customers at delivery sites
  • inspect the truck and accessories for safe operating condition before departure
  • keep truck clean and report mechanical issues
  • complete driver daily vehicle inspection reports when required
  • remove and store keys properly at the end of each workday
  • complete required safety and compliance training
  • perform other related duties as assigned
