Job Requirements
- be at least 21 years old
- possess a valid driver's license
- have a driving record meeting company criteria for authorized drivers
- pass Department of Transportation physical exam before employment and every two years thereafter
- ability to drive vehicles over 10,000 pounds
- demonstrate safety consciousness and attention to detail
- work independently and maintain professionalism under stress
- willingness to learn warehouse material-handling equipment and delivery systems
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- valid driver's license appropriate for vehicle weight
- clean driving record per company policy
- ability to pass Department of Transportation physical exam
- knowledge of motor vehicle laws and Department of Transportation regulations
- experience with warehouse safety and material handling
- strong customer service and communication skills
- ability to operate warehouse equipment and delivery computer systems
- proficiency in English reading, writing, speaking, and understanding
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Job Duties
- operate trucks safely and in compliance with company rules and applicable laws
- load trucks with merchandise and secure loads to prevent shifting or damage
- review shipping documents to ensure order accuracy
- unload merchandise and obtain signatures upon delivery
- collect and secure payments for cash sale deliveries
- resolve shipping discrepancies with customers at delivery sites
- inspect the truck and accessories for safe operating condition before departure
- keep truck clean and report mechanical issues
- complete driver daily vehicle inspection reports when required
- remove and store keys properly at the end of each workday
- complete required safety and compliance training
- perform other related duties as assigned
