Job Requirements
- Be at least 21 years old
- Possess a valid and proper driver’s license
- Hold a driving record that meets authorized driver criteria
- Pass Department of Transportation physical examination before hire and biennially
- Successfully pass government background check for access to military and government facilities
- Ability to drive vehicles over 10,000 lbs as a non-CDL driver
- Knowledge of safety precautions in warehouse and material handling environments
- Be able to lift and handle materials as part of delivery duties
- Willingness to complete required training programs
- Comply with company policies and procedures during deliveries
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting company policy
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Knowledge of motor vehicle laws and Department of Transportation regulations
- Ability to learn to operate warehouse material handling equipment
- Ability to use computer systems related to the delivery process
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective under stress or emergency situations
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers
Job Duties
- Operate trucks safely and in compliance with company rules, applicable laws, and regulations
- Load the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered
- Secure the load properly to prevent shifting, damage, or falling
- Ensure necessary equipment for safe unloading is available
- Understand shipping documents and have accurate directions for deliveries
- Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy
- Unload merchandise and place it where the receiving party requests
- Obtain legible signatures for all delivered merchandise
- Collect and secure payments for cash sale deliveries before release
- Work with customers to resolve shipping discrepancies
- Load truck at other locations including vendor pickups and returns
- Provide sales leads based on delivery route observations
- Inspect truck and accessories for safe operation before departure
- Keep truck cab and body free of debris
- Advise management of mechanical problems
- Complete daily vehicle inspection reports when required
- Remove and store truck keys properly at the end of each day
- Complete required safety and compliance training
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors and management
