Job Requirements
- Be at least 21 years old
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Maintain a driving record meeting company’s Authorized Driver criteria
- Pass Department of Transportation physical examination prior to employment and biennially
- Ability to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs
- Ability to understand and follow company policies and legal regulations
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Driving record that meets company policy standards
- Ability to pass Department of Transportation physical examinations
- Knowledge of motor vehicle laws and Department of Transportation regulations
- Ability to practice safety precautions in warehouse environments
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm in stressful or emergency situations
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Willingness to learn operation of warehouse equipment and computer systems
Job Duties
- Operate trucks safely and in compliance with company rules, applicable laws, and regulations
- Load the truck at the Profit Center with merchandise to be delivered
- Secure the load properly to prevent shifting, damage, or falling
- Review shipping documents and ensure order accuracy
- Unload merchandise and deliver to designated locations obtaining legible signatures
- Collect outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries
- Resolve shipping discrepancies with customers promptly
- Load the truck at other locations with merchandise from vendors, customers, or other wholesalers
- Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer information
- Inspect the truck and accessories for safe operation, keep it clean
- Advise management of any mechanical problems
- Complete Driver's Daily Vehicle Inspection Report when applicable
- Remove and store keys at the end of the workday
- Complete required safety and compliance training
- Perform related duties as assigned
