Job Requirements
- Class C (non-CDL) driver’s license required
- must maintain all DOT and driving certifications if applicable
- ability to lift and carry 75 lbs regularly unassisted
- excellent communication skills
- proficiency with hand truck usage and basic assembly
- willingness to get forklift certification if required
- flexible availability including weekends, holidays, occasional overtime and travel
- pass pre-employment drug, physical (including DOT Medical Card), background, and motor vehicle checks
- comply with random and post-accident drug screening
- sign nondisclosure agreement
- high school diploma or equivalent GED
- 2+ years driving experience is a plus
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- 1-3 years of experience in customer-facing roles
- valid state-issued driver’s license
- minimum 2 years of safe driving experience, preferred 5+ years
- ability to lift and carry 75 lbs unassisted regularly
- proficiency in using hand trucks, basic furniture assembly, and small power tools
- excellent communication skills
- willingness to obtain forklift certification if required
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, physical, background, and motor vehicle record check
Job Duties
- Deliver exceptional customer service and experience
- act as the brand ambassador while on the road and during deliveries for Scandinavian Designs | Dania Furniture
- provide friendly, courteous, and efficient service while delivering high-quality products to customers' homes and businesses
- be proactive to bring solutions including furniture assembly or repairs and other added value services as needed
- develop and maintain comprehensive product knowledge to assist customers effectively
- drive large box trucks safely and courteously, follow all traffic laws and company safety procedures
- maintain a timely delivery schedule, contacting customers via phone, email, and text to confirm delivery details
- inspect delivery vehicles before and after trips and as directed
- maintain accurate delivery logs and records and comply with transportation and DOT regulations including Hours of Service
- ensure all products are transported and delivered safely and professionally, including safe loading and unloading
- assemble furniture, affix tickets, and properly prepare and place merchandise in the delivery staging area
- review and verify invoices and purchase requests for accuracy
- maintain an accurate inventory to ensure efficient merchandise flow
- remove all packaging materials and debris ensuring a clean delivery
- assist with showroom changes, tagging merchandise, and maintaining displays
- greet clients and answer phones promptly, professionally, and politely
- possibly drive long distances including occasional overnight stays with per diem
- perform other duties or special projects as assigned
