Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 6 plus months tractor trailer driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A and must be 21 plus years of age
  • Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attain or have valid current DOT health card or able to secure new DOT health card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and stack product cases/freight

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • Inspect tractor truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and report all safety issues and repairs needed
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Immediately report all safety hazards and inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Perform count check of loaded items and verify customer invoices
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
  • Unload products and transport items into designated customer storage areas
  • Perform damage control checks on items and contact supervisor about order removals
  • Verify delivery with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • Collect money where required
  • Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clean
  • Complete daily hours of service records and log according to Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
