Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to operate and maintain pumping equipment
  • ability to perform minor maintenance and inspections
  • knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance including OSHA, FDA, DOT, EPA
  • ability to complete accurate records and documentation
  • forklift operation capability preferred
  • prior experience in industrial, medical or specialty gases filling preferred
  • ability to comply with shift work schedules including occasional overtime
  • physical ability to handle cylinder loading and unloading
  • strong attention to safety and detail
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • valid CDL license preferred for route backup driver duties

  • ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables where limited standardization exists
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules and safety data sheets in English

Job Duties

  • operate safely and maintain equipment for pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders
  • perform minor maintenance of equipment and inspection of cylinders prior to filling
  • use standard pre-fill and post-fill inspections, tests, and operating procedures before cylinders are released
  • regularly inspect and maintain pumping apparatus and associated pressure gauges and monitoring devices
  • fill cylinders or containers to proper capacity and accurately maintain cylinder filling records
  • complete daily fill sheets and cylinder filling records accurately and timely
  • complete and attach warning and other identification tags, labels and decals to cylinders
  • unload and load cylinders onto delivery trucks using cylinder carts and/or lift gate
  • conduct periodic checks of the plant/warehouse for safe and efficient operation
  • ensure any accident or injury is promptly reported and comply with all company safety policies and procedures
  • comply with shift work schedules and work occasional overtime to meet operational deadlines
  • maintain a clean, safe and orderly plant/warehouse appearance
  • conduct a variety of safety checks per procedure, such as odor tests, checking caps and valves and accurately labeling cylinders
  • operate forklift and other equipment as required
  • assist with inventory and housekeeping as required
  • assist with filling cylinders in other areas of the facility
  • perform other duties and projects as assigned
