Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • successful completion of Customer Service Assessment
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • intermediate computer skills
  • experience with a Customer Information System is a plus
  • ability to work indoors
  • ability to perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning, or lifting occasionally
  • ability to sit for long periods of time
  • willingness to undergo pre and post-employment drug screening as required by Department of Transportation and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration
  • safety sensitive position compliance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • successful completion of Customer Service Assessment demonstrating communication and customer service skills
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • intermediate computer skills for data entry, reference and/or retrieval tasks
  • previous experience with a Customer Information System is a plus

Job Duties

  • Responds to current and prospective customers regarding basic service connections, disconnections, billing questions and payment arrangements
  • receives and processes basic transactions and requests based on designated level of authority
  • addresses customer issues utilizing current company policies and procedures
  • corrects errors on customer accounts to ensure accuracy using an online Customer Information System
  • researches potential discrepancies on customer accounts and takes appropriate action to verify customer identity, address(es) and delinquent accounts as required
  • handles customer calls to ensure responsiveness to natural gas and other potential emergency situations
