Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or international equivalent
- must be 18 years of age or older
- read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
- bilingual language skills may be required in some locations
- valid driver’s license as required by local authorities
- completion of pre-employment drug screen, comprehensive background check, and/or fingerprinting
- fulfillment of FAA criminal background check to qualify for airport security identification display areas access
- ability to secure airport authority and/or US Customs security badges if applicable
- authorized to work in the U.S.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or international equivalent
- must be 18 years of age or older

- bilingual language skills may be required in some locations
- applicable valid driver’s license as required by local authorities
- completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check
- fulfillment of FAA criminal background checks for airport security access when applicable
- authorized to work in the U.S.
- working knowledge of Sabre or other Passenger Service Systems preferred
- previous face to face customer service experience preferred
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment preferred
Job Duties
- Greet customers when they enter the airport or arrive in the ticket area
- monitor the ticket counter area to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
- assist customers with self-service kiosk check-in and kiosk baggage processing
- service and maintain kiosk machines such as loading paper and cleaning surfaces
- troubleshoot kiosk technology issues and communicate with IT for additional servicing
- verify that customers’ carry-on baggage complies with FAA and American Airlines policies
- verify and clear travel documents for international travelers using the Timatic database
- assist customers with checked baggage processing including completing credit card transactions and self-tagging
- queue lines in ticket counter areas based on departure times and assistance needs
- accept and activate customers’ self-tagged baggage
- physically move baggage throughout the ticket counter area
- assist customers with checking assistive devices and oversized items
- refer customers to customer service agents when appropriate
- perform clearance and verification of documents at kiosks
- assist with physical movement of non-ambulatory customers in terminal areas
- assist unaccompanied minors with boarding and deplaning
- provide customers with gate information and directions
- perform paging activities to announce important information or lost items
- perform additional related duties as directed by management
- report to work on time and adhere to shift schedules including overtime and holidays
- complete job-relevant trainings
- adhere to government regulations such as DOT, FAA, and TSA
- adhere to company policies and performance standards
- wear uniforms as required
- provide quality customer service in accordance with American Airlines guidelines
- use internal resources and systems during customer interactions
