Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- relevant custodial or maintenance experience preferred
- ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
- ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
- valid driver license
- willingness to comply with a drug-free workplace
- ability to travel between campus locations
- knowledge of safety equipment and procedures

Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- four years of full-time related experience may be considered as a substitute for the minimum education requirement
- ability to travel between campus locations on short notice
- ability to communicate with clear written and verbal messages
- ability to present a professional image
- knowledge of safety equipment usage including AED and fire extinguishers, proper cleaning methods, and safety measures essential to the work environment
- ability to work outdoors in temperature extremes and with high noise levels
- ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs
- maintain a valid driver license
- previous professional cleaning, maintenance, or grounds experience preferred
- previous custodial experience in residence life or college housing preferred
Job Duties
- maintaining the cleanliness of assigned building and the surrounding grounds
- clear all stairways from debris and maintain cleanliness
- clean all surrounding grounds regularly to make the exterior of the building appearance inviting to the residents, guests, and employees
- maintain and sanitize volleyball courts and BBQ grill in courtyards and swimming pool areas including furniture such as benches, chairs, and tables
- perform general routine custodial duties including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing restroom facilities
- wash concrete areas as necessary
- clean carpets in common areas and occasionally in occupied spaces
- operate commercial vacuums, carpet shampooers, floor scrubbers, and pool cleaning equipment with training
- operate a TAMUCC vehicle and/or golf cart to navigate to and from worksites
- perform general outdoor maintenance, trash pickup, pool skimming and cleaning
- collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans
- remove trash bin liners and clear debris from dumpsters
- ensure trash bins and dumpsters are disposed of properly and maintained
- clear sidewalks and empty trash while maintaining cleanliness of all buildings and surrounding grounds
- adhere to established procedures to provide a safe working environment
- order and restock custodial supplies
- perform and document routine inspections on safety equipment and emergency lighting
- report maintenance concerns via work order requests
- seek out areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete tasks
- contribute to the team and exhibit professionalism
- perform other related duties as requested and assigned
