Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
  • Paid or unpaid custodial or housekeeping experience
  • Valid Texas driver license or must obtain within 90 days
  • Pass fingerprint criminal background check
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Pass Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System check
  • Pass Nurse Aide, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct registry checks
  • Male applicants between 18-25 must be registered with Selective Service
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Subject to random drug testing
  • Able to work overtime and extended hours if needed

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
  • Paid work experience in any field or unpaid housekeeping/custodial service experience
  • Preferred six months of custodial or environmental services experience in a healthcare or residential setting
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, infection control principles, and sanitation regulations
  • Skill in use of custodial equipment, materials and safe handling of chemicals
  • Ability to follow instructions and train others
  • Valid Texas driver license or ability to obtain within 90 days

Job Duties

  • Perform moderately complex custodial work including sweeping, mopping, dusting and disinfecting to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Operate floor maintenance equipment such as strippers, buffers, vacuums and extractors
  • Request and restock supplies as necessary
  • Assist in inspecting buildings and equipment for cleanliness and needed repairs
  • Perform minor building and equipment repairs and installations
  • Train other custodians as needed and provide documentation of training
  • Maintain outside areas around the building by clearing trash and debris
