Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
- Paid or unpaid custodial or housekeeping experience
- Valid Texas driver license or must obtain within 90 days
- Pass fingerprint criminal background check
- Pass pre-employment drug screen
- Pass Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System check
- Pass Nurse Aide, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct registry checks
- Male applicants between 18-25 must be registered with Selective Service
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods
- Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays
- Subject to random drug testing
- Able to work overtime and extended hours if needed
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
- Paid work experience in any field or unpaid housekeeping/custodial service experience
- Preferred six months of custodial or environmental services experience in a healthcare or residential setting
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, infection control principles, and sanitation regulations
- Skill in use of custodial equipment, materials and safe handling of chemicals
- Ability to follow instructions and train others
- Valid Texas driver license or ability to obtain within 90 days
Job Duties
- Perform moderately complex custodial work including sweeping, mopping, dusting and disinfecting to maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Operate floor maintenance equipment such as strippers, buffers, vacuums and extractors
- Request and restock supplies as necessary
- Assist in inspecting buildings and equipment for cleanliness and needed repairs
- Perform minor building and equipment repairs and installations
- Train other custodians as needed and provide documentation of training
- Maintain outside areas around the building by clearing trash and debris
