Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- experience using industrial cleaning machines
- ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently
- ability to lift heavier objects with assistance
- ability to stand, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods
- ability to wear closed or steel-toed shoes
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- knowledge of safety regulations
- must be able to pass a National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI)
- must register with the Selective Service System if applicable
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge and skill sufficient to read signs and follow simple oral and written instructions
- ability to work safely while moving lightweight objects
- ability to use powered cleaning equipment and perform minor maintenance
- ability to learn Material Safety Data Sheets
- ability to exercise care in handling tools and equipment
- responsible for completing routine duties independently after instructions
Job Duties
- Scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy powered scrubbers and buffers
- vacuum cleans rugs using heavy vacuum cleaner
- adjusts, cleans, and oils cleaning machines and changes attachments
- washes and replaces Venetian blinds
- changes light bulbs and washes ceiling fixtures and partitions using ladders and scaffolds
- moves heavy furniture, supplies and equipment
- keeps restrooms clean, orderly, and sanitary
- cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls
- cleans mirrors, sinks, and water fountains
- dusts ledges and woodwork
- replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap
- maintains stock of cleaning materials and equipment and notifies supervisor when supplies are low
- provides world class customer service with emphasis on courtesy
- assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner
- adheres to safety regulations and uses required safety equipment
- promptly reports workplace hazards and incidents
- adheres to EEO program principles and prevention of sexual harassment
- performs other related duties as required
