Job Requirements

  • 2+ years in a professional kitchen or pastry experience
  • safely and efficiently use cutlery and operate common pastry/kitchen equipment
  • maintain a clean, organized work environment and uphold sanitation standards
  • consistently perform essential job functions safely and successfully, meeting qualitative and quantitative standards
  • demonstrate strong communication skills and follow instructions accurately in a fast-paced setting
  • lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • stand for long periods of times
  • frequently walk, bend, reach above shoulder height, and climb stairs
  • maintain regular, punctual attendance with flexible availability, including shifts that may exceed 10 hours when needed

Job Duties

  • Collaborate within a diverse team with a strong work ethic
  • set up and stock pastry stations per prep lists and recipes
  • label, date, cover, and rotate all items using FIFO
  • prepare a range of pastries and breads using approved techniques
  • maintain knowledge of recipes, ingredients, and allergens
  • develop new pastry items with leadership feedback
  • keep work areas clean, organized, and efficient under pressure
  • manage inventory counts, receiving, and stock rotation
  • report issues
  • inspect ingredients, finished goods, and equipment
  • escalate problems
  • uphold JPMC food quality, safety, and temperature controls
  • adhere to NYC sanitation code and company policies
  • arrive on time in uniform and perform other duties as assigned
