The Schaumburg Boomers are a prominent independent professional baseball team competing in the Frontier League. Job Requirements
- Culinary certification or degree preferred
- food handler certification
- two or more years kitchen experience in an event venue or full or quick service restaurant
- ability to work all 50 scheduled game dates and additional special events
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and long shifts
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- prior experience in a team environment
- knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and food safety standards
- excellent communication and leadership skills
Job Qualifications
- Live in the Chicagoland area
- two or more years kitchen experience in an event venue or full or quick service restaurant
- management experience is a plus
- culinary certification or degree preferred
- Food Handler Certification
- experience cooking in a high-volume operation including continuous batch cooking
- experience with commercial cooking equipment including convection oven, steamer, flat top, and deep fryer
- comprehensive knowledge and focus on production, quality, cost, presentation, and sanitation
- prior experience in a collaborative team environment
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bending, reaching and lifting up to 25 pounds
Job Duties
- Lead the production team in a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative workplace environment
- execution of the pre-ordered suite menu, Jim Beam Club menu, and player meal menu
- work side-by-side with the team, reinforcing procedures and practices through repetition, leading by example and providing on-going constructive feedback
- positively interact with Director of Hospitality and staff while rapidly solving any problems which may occur
- lead in production of food preparation, ensuring recipe specifications, portion controls and kitchen timings are met
- monitor all food served relative to appearance, temperature, sanitary and quality standards
- lead the charge in ensuring that all kitchen equipment and operations are in compliance with health department standards at all times
- coordinate with Director of Food & Beverage for proper kitchen record-keeping, including food inventories, deliveries, and invoicing of food products
- perform other duties as assigned
