Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years of kitchen experience preferred
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain required government licenses or permits
- Commitment to maintaining a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- Willingness to work full time during the AM/day shift
- No travel required
- Ability to work under the supervision of Chef De Cuisine and Sous Chef team
Job Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education required
- One to two years of kitchen experience preferred
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates, or permits
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per The Umstead Hotel standards
Job Duties
- Lead by example through hands-on involvement of all aspects of Herons production and service
- Represent the Executive Chef's core values of quality, sanitation, and fair treatment of all associates
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workplace
- Follow the procedures and standards set by the Executive Chef and Chef De Cuisine
- Report directly to the Chef De Cuisine and/or the Sous Chef team
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
