Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education preferred
- One year of customer service experience preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to follow safety protocols and handle hazardous materials appropriately
- Ability to work 24-hour shifts and meet time-sensitive delivery standards
- Good organizational and time management skills
Job Qualifications

- Proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing
- Basic computer knowledge including use of handheld scanners
- Demonstrated ability to perform assigned duties safely and effectively
- Knowledge of isolation, infection control, and safety procedures
- Effective communication skills with patients, coworkers, and medical professionals
- Ability to build and sustain interpersonal relationships
- Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Job Duties
- Transport medications, laboratory specimens, medical records, patient belongings, and miscellaneous items within the hospital complex
- Accurately sort, organize, and deliver specimens and medications between pharmacy, laboratory locations, nursing units, and physician offices
- Operate the pneumatic tube system to send medications and specimens according to established safety guidelines
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, nurses, physicians, and staff using appropriate phone etiquette and radio communication
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA during transportation and delivery
- Document deliveries and pick-ups accurately on courier log sheets and scan medications to ensure fiscal accountability
- Follow safety protocols including the safe handling of cytotoxic and biohazardous materials
- Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives and provide excellent customer service
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules and minimize overtime
- Support peer accountability to improve quality, safety, and patient satisfaction scores
