Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years of progressive sales experience
- Experience in the hospitality industry preferred
- Must demonstrate strong negotiation and sales skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and hotel management systems like Delphi
- Capable of conducting internet research
- Commitment to weekly prospecting and client solicitation
- Strong customer development and relationship management expertise
- Knowledge of banquet and event operations
- Ability to manage room and meeting space inventories
- Understanding of contract management and legalities
- Financial management capability including P&L comprehension
- Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving
- Ability to present effectively and organize work
- Physical ability to walk, stand, sit, and lift up to 10 pounds
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as hotel operates 24/7
Job Qualifications
- Three or more years of progressive sales experience
- Previous hospitality industry experience preferred
- Experience selling luxury brands and experiential services preferred
- Strong negotiating and creative selling skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and hotel systems including Delphi
- Ability to conduct market research
- Effective weekly prospecting and solicitation skills
- Knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, banquet and event operations
- Ability to manage guest room and meeting space inventories
- Strong customer relationship management skills
- Understanding of hotel operations impacting sales
- Knowledge of AV products and contract management
- Ability to understand financial statements and manage budgets
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong presentation and organizational skills
- Effective closing and persuasion skills
- Strong decision making abilities
Job Duties
- Builds top line revenue by following sales strategy guidelines set by Director of Sales and Marketing
- Identifies revenue opportunities based on event profiles
- Meets and exceeds individual revenue goals
- Manages customer budgets to maximize revenue and identify up-sell opportunities
- Acts as a mentor in the sales process and exceeds company sales standards
- Understands market including competition, economic trends, supply and demand
- Builds and strengthens customer relationships through calls, entertainment, and site inspections
- Targets key accounts for proactive solicitation and account saturation
- Responds to inquiries within 4 hours
- Closes best revenue opportunities
- Accurately forecasts group room and revenue
- Creates sales contracts
- Manages department budget and financial goals
- Ensures high customer satisfaction and coordinates event details communication
- Greets customers during events and supports Convention Services
- Addresses guest problems and complaints
- Reviews guest service feedback and implements corrective actions
- Uses Delphi system to manage customer information
- Demonstrates leadership and accountability
- Addresses conflict timely and supports team goals
- Balances short and long-term business strategies
- Demonstrates business ethics and personal integrity
- Adheres to policies and procedures
- Uses resources effectively
- Pursues self-development and identifies talent within the team
