Job Requirements

  • Completion of four years of high school or equivalent
  • minimum two years experience in institutional food services
  • experience with institutional food service equipment
  • ability to pass written culinary exam
  • Serv Safe Certification within 60 days of hire
  • fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or exemption statement

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of four years of high school or equivalent
  • judgment and planning skills required for food preparation
  • minimum of two years experience in institutional food services including experience with institutional food service equipment
  • ability to pass Southcoast written culinary exam
  • Serv Safe Certification required within 60 days of hire
  • must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or exempt with signed statement

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of food
  • monitor food produced for quality, temperature and flavor
  • identify any issues via tasting, portioning and visual appearance and make corrections as needed
  • accurately extend recipes to ensure proper yields and maintain meal costs
  • practice and enforce sanitation policies
  • keep production and temperature records up to date and report any problems to the Manager on duty
  • ensure all refrigerators and freezers are clean and organized
