- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Commitment to maintaining a neat and professional appearance
- Willingness to participate in safety training and obtain necessary certifications
Job Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking such as portioning, chopping, and storing food
- Remove food from freezer for thawing in refrigerator
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal criteria
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
- Monitor food quality while preparing meals
- Test dishes to ensure they are adequately cooked by tasting, smelling, or probing with utensils
- Ensure correct portion sizes, plating, and garnishing
- Serve food in appropriate portions and containers
- Use cooking utensils safely and appropriately
- Clean and sanitize kitchen area, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment
- Check and verify appliance and food temperatures
- Report to manager any product not meeting specifications
- Communicate need for assistance during busy periods
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
- Participate in safety training and certifications
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
- Greet all guests according to company standards
- Use clear and professional language when communicating
- Support team to achieve common goals
- Listen and respond appropriately to coworkers' concerns
- Ensure quality standards and expectations are met
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
- Move, lift, push, pull, and place without assistance objects weighing 10 pounds or less
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors
