Job Requirements

  • Completion of a background check as required by formal correctional facility procedures and applicable law
  • at least one years' prior culinary experience in a quality and high volume establishment
  • knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques and standards
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Instructing and training employees in all aspects of food service and sanitation
  • ensuring meal services begin on time
  • ensuring that portion, appearance and temperature for all food items is appropriate and of high quality
  • supervising food preparation to maintain culinary standards
  • maintaining compliance with food safety regulations
  • managing kitchen workflow and employee schedules
  • providing leadership and support to culinary staff
