Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent such as GED or HiSET
  • ServSafe Food Handlers certification
  • Proven experience in short order or line cooking
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations including HACCP and Department of Public Health guidelines
  • Ability to work part-time including every other weekend rotation
  • Capacity to handle high volume, fast-paced food production demands
  • Must be able to maintain strict hygiene and safety standards while working efficiently under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • GED or HiSET
  • ServSafe Food Handlers certification
  • Proven short order or line cooking experience in healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality setting
  • Knowledge of HACCP, JCAHO, and Department of Public Health regulations
  • Ability to follow recipes and safety procedures meticulously
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills

Job Duties

  • Proven skills in short order or line cooking, making quick and accurate decisions in a very rapid and changing environment
  • Safe, sanitary food handling techniques including gloves, hand washing, cross-contamination prevention, hygiene, and temperature control
  • Ensures appropriate supply levels to execute daily production needs
  • Responsible for daily food quantity and quality based on CBORD-generated specifics or par levels
  • Performs prep or line cooking functions in accordance with HACCP, JCAHO, and DPH regulations
  • Prepares hot and/or cold food items in an appropriate timeframe following recipes and safety adherence under supervision
  • Maintains temperature, quality control, and quality assurance logs as directed
  • Cleans all equipment and food service tools including mechanical devices, refrigerators, cutting boards, knives
  • Works well under pressure while maintaining composure, quality, consistency, and safety
  • Ensures safe and smooth operation of food production
  • Collaborates as a team player in a fast-paced environment
