Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a cook or kitchen manager in a similar environment
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
  • Ability to work full-time, 35 to 40 hours per week
  • Physical stamina to handle kitchen duties
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive culinary experience with proficiency in food preparation, cooking, and food handling
  • Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation practices
  • Experience in menu planning and meal preparation for diverse dietary needs
  • Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques
  • Background in fine dining or restaurant environments is preferred
  • Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive work environment
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and service
  • Experience in catering or large-scale food service operations is advantageous
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with staff and ensure smooth kitchen operations

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines
  • Oversee menu planning to ensure nutritional balance and variety
  • Manage kitchen staff, including training and supervising food preparation and cooking activities
  • Ensure adherence to food safety standards and proper handling of all ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including sanitation of equipment and workspaces
  • Coordinate catering services for special events or large orders
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed
  • Assist with meal service, ensuring timely delivery of quality food to customers or residents
  • Implement quality control measures to uphold high standards of food presentation and taste
