Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a cook or kitchen manager in a similar environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Ability to work full-time, 35 to 40 hours per week
- Physical stamina to handle kitchen duties
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Job Qualifications
- Extensive culinary experience with proficiency in food preparation, cooking, and food handling
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation practices
- Experience in menu planning and meal preparation for diverse dietary needs
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques
- Background in fine dining or restaurant environments is preferred
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive work environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and service
- Experience in catering or large-scale food service operations is advantageous
- Good communication skills to coordinate with staff and ensure smooth kitchen operations
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines
- Oversee menu planning to ensure nutritional balance and variety
- Manage kitchen staff, including training and supervising food preparation and cooking activities
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards and proper handling of all ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including sanitation of equipment and workspaces
- Coordinate catering services for special events or large orders
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed
- Assist with meal service, ensuring timely delivery of quality food to customers or residents
- Implement quality control measures to uphold high standards of food presentation and taste
