Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 2 years of related cooking experience preferred
- current food handlers card for Washington state
- knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- ability to follow detailed recipes and production guidelines
- ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen workspace
- availability to work variable shifts in a hospital setting
- ability to lift frequently up to 22 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
- ability to work in noisy environments and near heated surfaces
- effective communication skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- minimum of 2 years experience as cook in hospital or full-service kitchen preferred or combination of experience and formal culinary training considered
- food handlers card - Washington required
- professional culinary institute certificate preferred
- knowledge and understanding of proper food handling and sanitation required
- ability to work well with others required
- proficient in MS Office applications required
Job Duties
- Accurately follow and prepare recipes
- prepare hot and cold food according to recipe and production and food styling guidelines taking into consideration customer and patient counts
- maintain proper food handling techniques
- properly clean and sanitize workstation according to safety and sanitation guidelines
- organize, calculate, and produce food production
- maintain appropriate records according to regulatory and departmental standards
- perform other duties as assigned
