Job Requirements
- basic culinary knowledge and ability to handle kitchen tools such as peelers, knives, ovens, grills, and fryolators
- knowledge of kitchen sanitation and ability to sanitize and store equipment and utensils properly
- ability to alert management about equipment issues
- physical ability to lift, bend, reach, stoop, climb, and carry items up to 40 pounds
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and special events
- ability to endure heat and moist conditions
- ability to maintain a positive attitude and work well under pressure
- good communication skills
- ability to work varying shifts
Job Qualifications
- minimum of one-year food service experience desired
- ability to read, write, add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- working knowledge of safe power use and food storage for consumption
- ability to perform duties with minimum supervision
- ability to follow daily schedules and checklists
- strong interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external guests
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
Job Duties
- working under pressure in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
- performing various kitchen duties including pantry and salad preparation, vegetable cleaning and paring, broiling, sautéing, frying, boiling, steaming, baking, and grilling
- ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and proper presentation of food lines
- taking and recording temperatures to maintain health code requirements
- following procedures to ensure food and personal safety
- maintaining corporate standards for public space viewing
- maintaining a positive and polite demeanor
- performing any other tasks assigned by management
