Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working as a cook or in food preparation
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Food handler’s certification or willingness to obtain
- Availability to work Monday through Thursday and during academic breaks
- Reliable transportation to the Grand Rapids Community College campus
Job Qualifications
- Experience in a food service or culinary role
- Ability to follow recipes and food safety guidelines
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices
Job Duties
- Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner that preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
- Maintain a safe, sanitary work area at all times
- Store food items according to established standards of practice
- utilize proper labeling and dating
- Interact with guests as their food is being prepared
- Put away/pull stock and clean fry equipment as needed
