Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior cook experience required preferably in a large-scale production kitchen
- Ability to work full time with open availability preferred
- Ability to follow federal, state and corporate food safety standards
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety in kitchen environment
- Ability to stand and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Ability to work safely with kitchen tools and equipment
- Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Prior cook experience preferably in a large-scale production kitchen
- Ability to prepare food according to federal, state, and corporate standards
- Knowledge of safe food handling, storage, and kitchen cleanliness
- Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adhere to safety procedures and policies
- Commitment to providing high-quality food and service
- Ability to maintain records and assist with inventory
- Willingness to attend training and safety meetings
Job Duties
- Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serve meals or prepare for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
- Taste all prepared food items
- Use established ticket collection procedures during service
- Maintain records from area worked during service periods
- Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
- Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat
- Ensure food and supply items are stored per standards
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
- Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required
- Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to supervisor immediately
- Attend in-service and safety meetings
- Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
- Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures
- Follow HACCP standards
- Commit personally to safety of self and others
- Abide by company safety policies including use of gloves and slip-resistant shoes
- Perform other duties as assigned
