Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Minimum two years experience as a Pastry Cook
- Culinary certification preferred
- Ability to perform tasks with speed and accuracy
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- ServeSafe certification
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Physical capability to lift 55 pounds and maintain prolonged physical activity
- Compliance with state sanitation and health regulations
Job Qualifications
- Minimum two years experience as a Pastry Cook in a 4- or 5-star hotel or restaurant
- High school diploma, culinary certification preferred
- Ability to perform with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Strong organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work cohesively in a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest and hotel information
- Capability to work under pressure and meet production schedules
- ServeSafe certification
- Ability to communicate in English, fluency in other languages preferred
- Physical ability to handle lifting up to 55 pounds and endure physical work conditions
Job Duties
- Plan, prep, set up and prepare quality pastry products including pastries, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, syrups, jams, and displays
- Maintain compliance with all departmental policies, service procedures and quality standards
- Ensure sanitation and cleanliness of work areas and equipment according to state health regulations
- Collaborate with Pastry Chef and Sous Chef to review assignments, forecast business levels and plan daily tasks
- Lead the pastry department, train junior team members, and assist Baker as needed
- Manage inventory by informing supervisors of shortages and excesses, requisition supplies, and minimize waste to control food costs
- Perform opening and closing duties including workstation setup, cleaning, storage organization, and equipment maintenance
